When an aging rockstar, Ricky “Hellcat” Heller returns home to Indiana years after disappearing, following the death of his son, he is shunned by most of the town and his estranged wife. Ricky believes he’s better off dead until a kid, haunted by his own demons, shows him otherwise.
Synopsis
The fading Americana rock idol had time and tragedy take a toll on him and his career. Now, three years after leaving everything behind following his teenage son’s tragic death, Ricky returns to Anderson, Indiana. While his father welcomes him with open arms, his estranged wife, Susanna, prefers not to rekindle their relationship and open past wounds.Just when Ricky thinks it is the end for him, he meets the troubled young man, Tyler, who was his son’s best friend. The latter has been recently released from the juvenile correction system and has been attending group meetings to prepare for the new chapter of his life. The two had a rocky start, but they strike up a friendship that paves the way for them to heal from their deep-seated issues.
While Ricky gains hope for a new chance at life and reconciliation, Tyler relapses in his rehabilitation and is threatened with a return to the correctional system. In Ricky’s attempt to right his wrongs, he desperately seeks a way to provide support and stability to Tyler as the younger man attempts to fight his demons.
